Just a quick LO, using up some old stuff. I got this in October of 2005 in a PaperPosies Kit. Love the PP, but cannot seem to use it up.
Other than that, I am up to my eyeballs in cake and buttercream for a wedding later this afternoon. I got the new cake platters and pillars and I think it is going to look nice. The couple wanted a tall cake, even though it is only going to serve about 50. But, I think they are going to get "tall". Pictures later tonight.
The weather is crappy, drizzle, grey, fairly cool. But, look on the bright side, I don't have to worry about the cake melting. BTDT. I think that is a nightmare any wedding cake baker has... the melting cake! I had made this beautiful three tier square basket weave cake. White cake, raspberry filling, white chocolate buttercream frosting. Gorgeous, if if I may say so. Anyway, the wedding was at the couple's lovely Omaha home, but on 4th of July weekend. HOT, HOT, HOT! And the bride insisted on real buttercream and wasn't turning on the AC. So, with the AC blazing in my car, I got the cake there in one piece. I got it set up in one piece but it was starting to melt. And, as I was getting back into my car... the groom came running. "The cake is falling!". Ughhh. With the heavy basket weave frosting, and the heat, it was just sliding off the cake. Well, I managed to get it put back together without it turning into too much of a disaster, but I got back into my car VERY QUICKLY and got the heck out of there, before anything else happened.
Other than that, the interview went well, I think. It was only the first round of interviews, so I don't want to push my luck, but I could really USE some luck. So... please do keep your fingers crossed that this pans out.
Have a good one. Off to set up the cake.
