Stampin' Up

I think Trouble #1 and #2 are finally healthy enough that I can focus my energy on something other than trying to get them from one doctor's appointment to another or keeping them entertained while not in school. And considering that I signed up to be a Stampin' Up demo back in November and haven't done ANYTHING yet.... it's high time. I do have a workshop scheduled for early March. Very excited about that. The hostess isn't even someone I know. Double excited about that!

So, with that said, I should probably start doing posts in English AND German, in case any of my customers stumble upon my blog. I don't feel like doing ALL my posts in German, since writing in English is much easier for me, but for now, any Stampin'Up related posts will be in German.

Also... meldet euch.

Und hier einige Karten die vor ein paar Tagen entstanden sind.

Have a good one.

And this, my friends... is my 200th post!

so, I thought I should write something memorable. But... sorry, I am all out of memorable stuff to say. All you get is my usual babble. Well, not even that. I just really don't have anything to say other than that I made The Pioneer Woman's Tomato Soup for lunch, Trouble #1 and #2 will most likely turn up their noses at it and complain, but... that's my life. I have made TPW's Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwich before and that was super yummy as well.

Last but not least, I had planned on a layout a day this year, but hey... mojo just isn't a steady visitor these days. So I am up to #33 for the year.

Have a good one.

Okay.... by popular request...

I counted my shoes. I counted exactly 50 pairs. Problem is... I think I am missing a box or two and I am too lazy to go look for them right now. But I did count my ugly Meindl Hiking boots (my mother bought those for me, so I could walk the kids to school in the winter... yeah, with all the snow we are having these days) and a pair of flip-flops. Oh, and a pair of clunky Sketcher boots, that I haven't worn in several years. But, 50 sounds like a good number, don't you think?

Have a good one.

Quick update

a) The babysitter, no, pardon me, the mother's helper... was a full success. Trouble #2 loves her.

b) Yes, that last pair of shoes IS super comfy, well, as comfy as shoes with a 5 inch heel are going to be. I am not going to run a marathon in them, but walk around the city all day, definitely.

c) And yes, I can still count all my shoes. And really, I don't have as many as some might think. Unfortunately, giving birth to two children... well, not the giving birth part really, more the pregnancy weight gain.... caused my feet to grow about one size. So all my super cute and stylish shoes I bought pre-kids went to Good Will just before I moved to NY, because I finally had to face the truth: Trouble #1 was 4 years old at the time, and my feet had not shrunk back to pre-Trouble #1 size, so there was no point in taking the shoes with me to a tiny apartment in NYC with literally no closet space. Anyway, long story short, I do have all the necessary shoes. And the definition of "necessary" can be found HERE. I have to say I fully concur!

Now I am off to bed. Have a good one.

I love shoes....

and today I had to bail out 4 pairs of shoes from customs. And... my friendly customs official was definitely a bit confused this time, because for once it was something other than scrapbooking supplies I came to fetch. But, he was in a good mood and must have felt generous... especially when I told him that it was a birthday gift. So, what do you think?

The last pair is my absolute favorite .... I am telling you, they are so comfy. I got them in bright red, though.

Other than that, Trouble #2 is home sick again. I had to go pick her up from school after second period. Poor thing complained about a head- and earache. And quite frankly, she looked like death warmed over. I hope she is not too cranky tonight, though, because it is parent night at the school and we are having a babysitter... no, make that a mother's helper (T#2 insisted that she is too old for a babysitter) for the first time ever. Up until now, whenever I needed someone to watch the kids, they went to their Oma's. But, alas, Oma has another appointment tonight, so it was time for the next step: hire a babysitter.

So, wish us luck and have a good one.

Now it is official....

I am not just feeling old, I am officially old... at least a year older.

But, in the midst of my wallowing in self pity , I have been reminded that I have fantastic friends. Friends who I met here in Germany, who don't necessarily live close by, but who I talk to pretty much every day one way or another. Friends who sent lots of little surprises. Thank you all, you are the best.

If you want to see some of my goodies, go here, here, and here. And this fabulous chickie here sent me some of her über fabulous papers and cool stamps.

And... more on that wallowing in self pity and feeling old stuff ... nothing like trying to recapture my youth. I love YouTube. LOL.

Have a good one.

Still feeling old....

so here's one of my favorite bands when I was in college. I was pretty excited when I found one of their videos on Youtube.

Every so often I just need this....

Since I have nothing new to show....

did I ever show this little album? It started out as a class project my friend Christiane did at our workshop weekend in Hamburg last fall. We had extra class kits, so I grabbed one and figured I'd use it somehow. I don't ususally do minis, but what the heck? And this is what I came up with. A tribute to my favorite city.
And if you know anything about Christiane's scrapping style, you know, that she is the queen of scissors. She painstakingly cuts out the tiniest details for her LOs. This of course was reflected in her class. Me? I an not so much of a cutter-outer, but for a change of pace, and boy, did it slow down the pace, I did do my share of cutting out. Letters, that is.

Trouble #2 is still sick, I am somewhat feeling better, and Trouble #1 is back at school.

Have a good one.

Same old story

we are back to all of us being sick again.

I am still having coughing fits and constant headaches.

Trouble #2 has an ear infection and taking antibiotics.

And as of this morning, Trouble #1 is complaining of stomach pains and headaches.

Hope at least you have a good one.

Sorry...

nothing new, still sick. Plus Trouble #2 is sick again. Another day at the doctor's office.

Have a good one.

Valentine's Day Cards

I am not really a fan of Valentine's Day. But... I made two cards anyway, just because. So if you are at a loss for ideas, here are two very simple cards. All you need: Cardstock/card, bits of pattern paper, some chipboard letters or rub on letters, some chipboard shapes such as the hearts. I also added a fuzzy Heidi Swapp rub on to the one card, but I am not really tickled pink with those.... too hard to rub on completely.

Now I am off to the grocery store and after that I am hoping to just lay around the house and not do ANYTHING. Still feeling cruddy.

Have a good one.

Heaven help me

Trouble #1 wants to be a dentist when she grows up. That's all she ever talked about, for two years now, which is like an eternity to an 8 year-old.

As of today... her life's ambition is to become a cheerleader!

Oye!

Have a good one.

Playing with paint and more paint

Trouble #1 and #2 are sick again. This time it's some sort of 48 hour virus/flu. T#1 stayed home Wednesday and Thursday, T#2 stayed home Thursday and today. And now I am feeling a bit under the weather. Ughhh!

So, needless to say, mojo is nowhere to be found. But, as I go crazy not doing at least a little bit of artsy stuff, I did this:

It is a complete lift of THIS one by Tim Holtz, but it was fun to play around with new products, like grungeboard and cracklepaint.

Have a good one.

And just because I didn't "tease" you enough yet

with this super yummy frosting.... this is the birthday cake that Trouble #1 took to afterschool care today. I was a bit rushed and it didn't turn out like I wanted it to, but somehow I don't think the kids are going to mind, and you know... it IS yummy!

Have a good one.

Cupcake box tutorial

so... Trouble #1 and #2 always want to give cupcakes as gifts to the neighbors and their teachers, and frankly, I am glad they do, because do I really NEED all those calories, I mean cupcakes, yummy as they may be, sitting in my house, just calling out my name? Don't answer that.

So, rather than having the kids just walk over to the neighbors with cupcakes in hands, or trying to hunt down tupperware containers... I decided to make my own little cupcake gift boxes.

This is what I came up with. They are the perfect size for a standard size cupcake plus frosting.

Let me know what you think.

Have a good one.

Nothing new

to report.... no scrapping, no stamping, nothing creative going on. BUT... I tried out a new frosting recipe a couple of days ago and it is so yummy! For a no fat, no carb, no calorie treat, have a cupcake!

And for a cute idea of how to give a cupcake as a little treat... check back later.
Have a good one.
