I had to go bathing suit shopping. And since I just couldn't bear to go to an actual store, I ordered 4 different ones online. They finally got here yesterday and I tried them on. It was slightly less horrifying than having to try them on in the store, and they actually all look okay, but still.... awful!
And no, I am not going to post pictures.
Have a good one.

Knitted stuff....
so, the socks are done. They turned out a bit snug and considering it is in the 70s I am not sure why Trouble #2 insisted on wool socks, but hey... they are done. My fancy knitting books didn't help me, though. I just couldn't figure out how they were doing the heel, so I went looking for different instructions online and wouldn't you know it? I found fabulous step-by-step instructions. So any of you.... Kimmy, I am talking to you... cannot figure out how to do the heel on a sock, check it out HERE. I actually knew how to knit socks a long time ago, just couldn't remember how. And the way the heel was being done in my books just wasn't making sense to me. The instructions HERE are pretty much how I used to do it.
And here is the masterpiece itself, modeled by chickenlegs... aka Trouble #2:
Oddly enough, now that I figured out how to do the heel again, I am obsession about figuring out the other way to do it. MMMhhh, maybe it'll work on the next pair.
Oh, I also made this scarf for Trouble #1. It is so wonderfully soft, but it was a PITA to knit. The yarn has these big pompoms and they don't really pull through the stitches. It is done now, but I don't think I am going to knit with that kind of yarn again.
Have a good one.

Socks....
I've been knitting.... mainly scarves and hats. I also started a couple of sweaters. Nothing done, yet, but that's okay. But then Trouble #2 requested that I make socks for her. I hate knitting socks. So I actually ordered a book on how to knit socks. It came yesterday and I read it cover to cover, but I don't think I am any wiser.... so, I keep knitting and frogging and cussing... so Trouble #2 can have handknit socks before too long.
And that's the excitement for today. Oh, other than the weather being so fabulous that I was feeling all summery and actually started up the grill, had some grilled turkey for supper, and fixed myself a nice little cocktail.
Have a good one.

Nothing new....
with the weather as gorgeous as it has been, I haven't been scrapping at all. That's okay... haven't felt like it anyway.
Here are a few pictures I took the other day when we went to the funeral. It's in the area that my grandparents used to live.... so different than around where we live now. Oh, and a few gratuitous pictures of the Troubles... all three of them.
This is the church my mother was confirmed in... many moons ago....
Just dropped Trouble #1 off at a girlfriend's house, went to the yarn shop for some sock yarn, because Trouble #2 requested that I knit some socks for her, and now Trouble #3 needs to go for a walk... do I get a turn somewhere, too?
Have a good one.

No scrapping for me....
I don't know what it is... I just don't feel like scrapping. I have plenty of pictures. I have plenty of paper. I even got a new (yes, another...grin) toy... this one but I still just don't feel like it. On the other hand, I have been knitting like there is no tomorrow. There is a yarn outlet store close to the Troubles' school, so on Thursdays when they have swim practice and there really isn't time for me to drop them off, drive home, then pick them up again, I go and hang out at the yarn store. At 50 cents (and up) a skein... who can resist?
Anyway, I have knitted a few scarves and hats. And I started a sweater or two. They are waiting to be finished. And I started a jacket for Trouble #1. Unfortunately I had to frog it. I was winging it and shouldn't have. It turned out way too big and I didn't have nearly enough yarn anyway. Oh well, you live and learn. So, that's pretty much the excitement around here.
On a less pleasant note, we had to go to a funeral the other day. It wasn't a sad funeral, if you will. The decedent was the sister of my great-uncle's third wife.... and she was 85 and had been ill and bed-ridden for a long time. Anyway, she had never been married nor had children (and neither did her sister and my great-uncle), so the sad part at the funeral was that nobody really knew her. The pastor was having a hard time coming up with anything to say about her life and it came down to... she was born on such and such date in this town, graduated high school around such and such time, became a director of.... and a teacher of.... once my uncle's wife dies (she is 89), there won't really be anyone to remember her.
So, I guess I am taking this as a reminder to scrap more and to scrap more about myself. Most of my LOs are about the girls. Since I am usually the one taking the pictures, there aren't many pictures of me, and I have taken that as a reason not to scrap about myself. But, really,.... should that stop me?
And on that note....

Easter Break....
the girls have been off from school for Easter break. That means lots of stuff to do and no time for the blog. Sorry about that. Of course I haven't had time to scrap either.
This is a LO that was in the last issue of the Scrap-Art-Zine. Love, love, love the picture of Trouble #2 and me and I love the Kaisercraft paper my mom picked up for me
on her last trip to Australia.
Have a good one.

Scrapping the Music-Germany #12
It's time again for another challenge over at STM-Germany. I just had to scrap this (older) picture of Trouble #2, because she usually is my little sunshine....but definitely not in that moment, when things just weren't going her way at riding.
Supplies... no idea, I am trying to use up scraps from old kits.
Have a good one.

Bad, bad blogger here....
sorry, somehow I can't seem to get around to posting. Lots of stuff going on and now I am sick, too. Can't seem to shake this cough. And cough means migraines and no sleep. Makes for a grumpy me!
But... I do have a LO to show. Another LO about my cousin's wedding.
Aber, ich habe wenigstens 1 LO zu zeigen. Noch ein LO mit einem Bild von der Hochzeit meiner Cousine.
Have a good one.
