Have a good one

This year is finally over. I can't say that I am unhappy about it. It hasn't been the greatest of years.

But, so not to sink into depression, there have been a few great things that happened.
1. New friends.... scrapping friends to boot.
2. Trouble #2 testing really well and hopefully being allowed to start school this coming fall.
3. Lots and lots of LOs completed this year.
4. My brother coming to visit for Christmas and most importantly, him buying a house for the girls and I to live in. It is going to be so much fun getting it "just right" for us.
5. MIL being able to visit for Trouble#1's beginning of first grade.
6. Not too much drama with STBXH.
7. Catching up with an old friend.
8. Having my cousin visit from NY.
9. Winning a couple of scrapbooking contests. I am having so much fun with scrapping these days.
10. Being able to teach scrapping to a few newbies. They are so getting hooked.

So... not all bad, right?

Have a wonderful New Year and hopefully good things will come.

Merry Christmas to you all.

I managed to space out the whole gift opening frenzy over two days... Christmas Eve with my mom and brother and the girls and Christmas morning with gifts from the other grandparents and the girls' father. Much more enjoyable to space it out. The girls weren't overloaded, overstimulated, overtired, over.... unbearable. They went to bed at a decent time, and are in a good mood today. Yeah for me.

We had our traditional Christmas meal at my mom's-roast goose, red cabbage, potatoes-and I am stuffed. Now we are just taking it easy, the Trouble #1 is painting, Trouble #2 is watching a movie.

It's a good thing.

Countdown to Christmas Part 2

Well, a couple of days ago, in an attempt to get into a holiday mood, I grabbed a Neil Diamond CD. I have to admit I am a closet Neil Diamond fan. I mean.... come on.... but, it did the trick, listening to the CD actually got me to finish decorating the tree and feeling a bit less blue. Afterwards, I had a few minutes to myself and this LO was created.

Countdown to Christmas

I hate this. One more week til Christmas and I am NOT in the spirit. I haven't done any baking, I have barely gotten the Christmas tree up, the advent wreath not until the second Advent. Have I lit any candles yet? Noooo, are you kidding me? That would mean actually having time to enjoy the season. Ughhh. And of course this year with Christmas Eve being on Sunday, school goes til Friday, so there is no time to actually take time, does that make sense? I will be racing to the grocery store on Friday after school, to get ready for the long holiday. No stores open again until Wednesday. I have to admit, I have so gotten used to at least a few stores being open on all holidays in the US and I really miss that.

Anyway, enough complaining, better go and "feel the season".

Well, I have succumbed

to the need to have my own blog. Not that I have much to say, but there was this need, the urge, to desire, to be like everybody else. And... everybody else has a blog, so here goes.

So, welcome, feel free to pop in, feel free to tell me to shut up, and whatever else you feel like.
