A little birdy told me

that the uber-fabulous, paper designing, super cool sense of humor, Germany's very own Daniela is celebrating her birthday today. So... sending you birthday wishes from the other end of the country and in honor of your special day, a repost of a LO I did with paper from Series 4 (?)

Have a good one.

Rain, rain, go away....

because I am down right getting depressed. It's been raining, no, who am I kidding, it's been Noah, where's your boat kind of raining, streets flooded, manhole covers floating kind of rain. And when I am depressed, I can't scrap. And when I can't scrap I get crabby. And when I get crabby...well, I can still shoe shop, but that's another issue altogether. But, speaking of shoe shopping, I did get some new shoes. Wanna see?

I am not usually the loafer wearing kind of girl, but well... I do own two pairs and they are both so darn old and in such a sorry state (my pony fur ones look like a horse with a skin condition... no fur left), I had to get something for running around in when the weather is sure to ruin any heels. LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!

And then, my fabulous, shoe shopping, MIL sent me these cuties:

She also wrote to tell me that she bought some cherry red high heel sandals. Mmmhhhh, what could that be? I am not the most patient girl and mail's been taking forever from the US lately, so I had to browse the usual shoe sites to get my fix of cherry red high heel sandals. How about these?

And just because I am feeling sassy, how about these? Definitely not meant to be worn in the rain.... unless it's some cheap movie, I suppose.

Last but not least, my favorites of this bunch... super cute Betsey Johnson.

Who knew there were so many cherry red high heeled sandals? And these are just a little nibble of what i.e. Zappo's has listed. Makes me feel all happy inside.

Anyway, it looks like the weather might be clearing up a bit here. Is there actually a bit of blue sky visible? I will have to take the opportunity and hang some laundry out to dry. Miss having a dryer.

Have a good one.

Kit love

So, after 2 wonderful years of waiting anxiously for my PaperPosies Kit to arrive in the mail, I finally cancelled my subscription. Not that I didn't like the kits anymore, I just felt it was time for a change. Of course... I was fine for a month and then the following month Anna posted an absolutely fabulous, super cool kit. But, I remained strong. Well, sort of. Off I went and found myself another kit. This one is called SweetPeaScraps and I just received my first two (last month's kit and the current one) this morning. I was getting a bit worried there. The package had been mailed on May 30!!!! But the super sweet Kristin at SweetPeaScraps already offered to send out a replacement package should the original package not arrive. So, no worries, my package arrived finally and I couldn't wait to dig in. Love, love, love these kits.

Trouble#2 stayed home today because she had an ear ache. She had kept me up half the night, so after dropping Trouble#1 off at school, we went to the doctor. Gotta love a doctor where you show up and tell him you have a sick child and he tells you to sit down and you actually only have to wait 10 minutes. Well, maybe it isn't so much loving the doctor but the ladies who run his calendar.
Anyway, Trouble#2 has a slight ear infection, she is getting antibiotics and some pain killers and wasn't supposed to play rough today. So I kept her home from Kindi. I put her on the couch in front of the TV. She was happy. I was happy (since I didn't have to go to school myself either). Yeah, bad me, I know. But, with her watching TV, I got a bit of scrapping done.

The first LO is entirely out of the SweetPeaScraps May kit and both LOs are for the 1 in 48 class at NYCScraps, which is really a super cool class. I am always leary of online classes, but Hillary is doing a fabulous job.

Off to scrap some more.
Have a good one.

New format

You might have noticed, this die hard 12x12 scrapper's been venturing out into other formats. And it is getting to be more often. And I am actually doing not just AAM LOs. And I am enjoying it. Oye!

Here's the latest crop of LOs.

A couple of things I'd like to point out.... that super cute "monkey business" stamp by Catslife Press. I just love their stamps. I also used the Heidi Swapp "Today" stamp. And lastly, I love all the little skulls and such lately. And considering I call my kids Trouble #1 and #2... they are perfect.

Have a good one.

I confess....

I have a thing for "boy bands". But not when they first come out and everyone thinks they are all that, but when they actually show that they have talent and stick around a while and grow up.

For a class I am taking at NYC Scraps, I made this LO a couple of days ago. Lots of fun. The class, BTW, is called One-in-48 Computer Techniques Challenge Class. It's super cool, since it gets me going and scrapping, at least one LO every 48 hours.

Have a good one.

Crazy for ribbon

I have been digging through my ribbon stash these last couple of days. This is what I came up with.

Something else I have been playing around with. I finally caved in and bought some Hambly paper. I LOVE this stuff. But, even more so, I love THIS paper. Not only is Daniela a fabulously talented and funny scrapper, but she also designs her own paper collection. If you can get your hands on any of her paper, get it. And I mean that!

So, off to scrap some more.

Have a good one.

Deadline today

Okay, the last day to vote for my LO is today. So.... please head on over to ScrapbookLifeStyle and vote for my LO.

This is it:

Now I am off to play Chauffeur to Trouble #1 and #2 and when I am ready to collapse into bed tonight, I still have some scrapping to do.

Have a good one.

It is HOT

Even for me. I like hot summer days... no, I LOVE hot summer days, but I equally appreciate air conditioning. But alas, no AC here in Germany. So, insane that I am, I worked in the garden this morning until a bit after noon, and then pretty much collapsed inside.

However, rather than collapsing on my couch I would much rater be HERE:

I made this LO for a DT call. I didn't make the DT, but I still like this LO. I am just going to daydream for the rest of the day, thinking about sitting by the water, in the shade of palm trees, having someone bring me cold drinks and snacks, and letting time pass me by. Oh, yeah, that's the good life.

Have a good one.

I have another favor to ask

I enterd the ScrapbookLifeStyle Viewer Challenge. Would you mind going over there and voting for my LO? It is called "My girl India"
Here is the link to the gallery

Here is the link to vote

You have to be registered on the site, but hey, it's a cool site and lots of stuff to see, so it's worth it anyway.

Thanks a bunch.

Have a good one.

I have a plan.... Part 2

You ladies are fantastic. I have my volunteers, actually one more than planned, and Nat, I had already counted you in anyway. LOL. So, 4 lovely ladies will receive their package either tomorrow or Saturday.

Have a good one.

I have a plan....

I can't quite go into detail yet, but this is what I need from you.

I need two volunteers. Leave a comment, send me a mail (manolos.I.covet@gmail.com) and I will then contact you to get your mailing address. I will then send you a little package of "something or another scrapbook related" and I would like you to create at least 2 LOs with it and then e-mail me a picture of the LOs. I would also like to get honest feedback about the "something or another scrapbook related". Easy enough?

If the feedback from the volunteers is positive.... well....we'll see what time brings.

so, do I have any takers?

Don't be shy. No hard feelings if you tell me it's crap. Now, on the other hand, I could be convinced to send out some chocolates, too, if that means more mojo from the volunteers.

So, have a good one.

the next generation....let them eat cake

So... in a moment of temporary insanity, sometime last fall I think, I volunteered to teach a 4 week class on scrapbooking to about 10 first and second graders. Well, with that whole unemployment training thing starting I couldn't do the 4 weeks anymore, but I changed it to a one day, 4 hour class. The big day was yesterday.

There I was, with 10 first and second graders, plus Trouble #1 and Trouble #2 and one volunteer mother, and a bunch of scrapping supplies, at 10am on a Saturday morning. The kids were so excited. I was so terrified. And I had a screaming headache.

But, alas, other than trying to get them to understand that I could not help all 12 of them individually at the same time, but if they waited their turn, I would definitely come help them, they all seemed to have a blast, they all did very well, and all were VERY proud of their little mini album. The highlight of their day was when I got out the stickers and misc. swapp items I had received years and years ago. They thought that was the cat's meow. They also managed to break both, yes BOTH of my circle punches, but I guess that is a small price to pay for 12 happy kids.

Here they are and also some of their little albums.

Oh, and other than trying to get the curtains done for my brother, teaching this class and trying to squeeze in a Saturday night out with a few of my fabuluos girlfriends, this is what kept me busy this past week, but especially Friday.... between school, picking up the kids, gettng them to the church and such.

The bride is Trouble#2's Kindi teacher and the cake was a gift by the other teachers to the bride. So.... I have no idea yet wether the bride and groom liked it or not.

Anyway, it's been a long and exhausting weekend. Off to bed I go.
Have a good one.
